Gregory Sholette is an artist, writer, activist and founding member of Political Art Documentation and Distribution (PAD/D), and REPOhistory. He is currently co-editing the book Collectivism After Modernism: The Art of Social Imagination after 1945 with Blake Stimson for University of Minnesota Press (2006), and is the co-editor of the Interventionists: A Users Manual for the Creative Disruption of Everyday Life with Nato Thompson (MASS MoCA & MIT 2004)

An artist in his own right, Gregory's multi-media work combines sculpture, photography, drawings and text and addresses both social and political issues. He is a respected exhibition curator, college educator and public intellectual. He has been described as one of the most influential post-studio artist/ thinker/ activists who have emerged since the late 80s.
